s1

Client

s1jobs attracts an average of 16,000 job seekers every day, generating a job application every 15 seconds. Mark Smith, s1 Managing Director, said in a recent press release:
“We’re thrilled to once again be named the UK’s best recruitment site with a regional focus”

The Problem
s1 was launched by Scottish Media Group (SMG) at the depths of the internet recession, just as many
businesses were doubting that the internet was an ideal selling medium. SMG owned at that time STV, Grampian TV, GM TV, Virgin Radio, and the Evening Times. s1 challenge was to buck the trend and create confidence among advertisers to deliver a profitable e-commerce business to an audience aged 18 – 40+.

The Solution
The design was inspired by an functional online menu button. A series connected brand properties were developed; s1 homes, jobs, play, golf, love, cars, thus inferring all were owned by an organisation called s1. Infact no such company truly existed, it simply looked that way! Latterly however, this became official, and the company s1now Limited was formed.
